The XperiBIRD.be 2017-2018 scientific report is available!
XperiBIRD.be has celebrated its 3rd spring!
Since 2017, schools throughout Belgium have been scrupulously monitoring the nesting of couples of tits, thanks to their nesting boxes equipped with cameras. The pupils record their observations on the web site, just like real scientists, then these observations are analysed by the ornithologists of the Belgian Royal Institute of Natural Sciences. The data from 2017 and 2018 gave rise to the first XperiBIRD.be scientific report. Discover the results here!
This analysis will be enhanced this year and thereafter by the observations from the approximately 650 schools participating. Well done to everyone for what is already superb work in monitoring nesting passerines, which is providing us with useful information on the state of our planet’s environment!
